The Jamii Impact family is bursting with pride to announce that our esteemed Head of Programs, Mr. Barnabas Nkinga, has been elected as the new President of the Tanzanian Psychological Association (TAPA)
Mr. Nkinga contested for the presidency during the prestigious TAPA Annual General Meeting and won. He will lead the association for the next year, steering the national conversation on mental healthcare and professional standards across Tanzania. This milestone achievement is a testament to his unwavering dedication, expertise, and visionary leadership in the psychological community.
The monumental election took place against the backdrop of the 3rd TAPA Scientific Conference & 10th Annual General Meeting Held from June 25th to 26th, 2026, at the scenic Morena Hotel in Morogoro, the conference served as a vital melting pot for psychological researchers, practitioners, and change-makers. As a proud partner of this landmark event, the Tanzania Counseling Academy stood shoulder-to-shoulder with TAPA to advance the country’s psychological framework.
